芒果慕斯蛋糕

首次尝试,很成功啊,不甜不腻。只是我风格粗放,不精细,各种不平整。。。。。。。。。。。下次注意!TADA~

华人上的方子。步骤多,但是基本没有技术含量哈。很简单,耐得烦就行。我用了一个大熟芒果,不是买来的芒果丁,自己榨了橙子汁,没买果汁。殊途同归啦。非常好吃!Enjoy。

超好吃“puff pastries”

老大的锡兰人同学曾经做过几次给我们吃。去年我们从中国回来,正是下午要晚饭的时候。冰箱是空的,正打算出去随便吃点,同学过来我们家,送了一打。吃下去满满的香辣妥帖。心里头更是因满满的情谊而妥帖。

这次买到了材料,迫不及待的做了一次。一点都不难那,非常非常。。。非常的好吃!

鉴于太好吃了,不得不贴个方子。

There are two main components…

1. the dough – buy it

Make sure you buy the “puff pastry sheets”
* The package comes with 2 sheets, packed in pairs. One sheet makes 4 triangle things.
* Thaw (make it soft) by leaving in room temperature for 40mins.
* un-fold the sheets (sheets come triple folded). make sure the sheets are thawed before unfolding.
* cut the sheet into 4 squares.
2. the filling.
* a can of Jack Mackerel fish (I guess tuna will work too)
* a large onion – finely chopped
* salt, black pepper
* 2 table spoons of oil or butter or margarine
* 1 anaheim peppers – finely chopped
* 2 table spoons or crushed pepper
* 2~3 cloves of garlic – finely chopped
* any other spices you like
———Heat a skillet in medium, warm the oil , put everything and cook for about 10mins – or until cooked
, fish can is oil packed. separate fish and oil,  crush fish and fry along with rest of the things in pan,  if it becomes too dry, add the fish oil to moist.

now the fusion
a egg
separate egg white and egg york.
white – for pasting
york – for gloss
* put enough of the filling into the middle middle of the squares (cut from the sheets)
* wipes the edge with egg white
* fold and press the edge to stick firmly
* brush the top of the pastry with egg york

* grease (put butter or margarine or cooking spray) on a tray.
* place the pastries with about 1/2 inch space from each other.
* pre-heat the oven to 400
* cook for 20-30 min.

DONE!

饭前跟老大一起去公园给朋友结婚录一段亲友团录像,穿了新的衣服。是去年在成都没买的一对。当时写了博客心里不甘的很,公婆看见了,后来托去锦里玩儿的亲戚给买了一对,这次回国,赶忙寄给我了。公婆可真好呀~太给力了。^^

Burger Night!

Jalapeno Beef Burger

80/20 Ground Beef + Pepper & Salt + Jalapeno + Any spice you like

Make a beef ball, press down

Put it on a grill pan,2-3 min per side

Done.

SO EASY A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT!

Cookie

我大晚上就很想吃cookie。自己烤。

一拨草莓酱的一拨核桃的。烤出来一个一个都白白的,我开了一下下broiler,一眨眼竟然把核桃那层烤焦了些。

自己烤出来的草莓酱cookie,有点pepperidge farm果酱曲奇的意思了。偷笑。

山寨豆花鱼

就是水煮鱼,加了嫩豆腐,学了别人的。原帖也说最好用豆腐花,没法子在美国搞不到这种稀罕玩意只好用豆腐勉为其难的代替下。因我老公爱吃黑木耳,里面加了大量的,锅底垫着的是生豆芽。用了中国带来的新花椒,跟美国买的陈年花椒麻的不是档次啊。嘴唇麻的接近拔牙时候打麻药的效果。很好。

卖相差了点,原因是煮的时候水少了,居然没有盖住所有的料!真是人有失蹄。

说个旁的,今天搜菜谱看到Julia Child的Beef Bourguignon。Video里被采访的是Julie —-对,就是Julie & Julia里的原型。听到一句话,是Julia说的吧–Mistakes were made, you fix them the best you can,and move on. 不知道为什么深深的击中了我。

Julia Child这个奇女子,30多岁结婚前什么都不会,到50岁成了日后影响了无数人的大厨。她的故事告诉我们,如果想做一些事情,无论什么时候开始都不算晚。

好吧,Steak.

半年不写博客新年开张第一篇写写homemade steak啊。

华人最近吹牛排风,我回了美国没两天不知道着了什么疯魔刚好买了个Cast iron grill。好吧,万事俱备,只欠东风—–主要是一回来就狠狠病了一场,一直没胃口。

今天第一次做Steak啦,买了一磅多Rib eye.

Recipe在此,完全没有技术含量啊,关键是一口好锅,一枚烤箱那~

里外里七八分钟搞定吧。急不可耐,仓惶炒了个蔬菜配一配。加上一个烤土豆。晚饭得了。

——加个Tip, 拜读了几篇帖子后发现有人说吃牛排的盘子最好是热的。我就从我家破破烂烂的盘子中寻了两个写着Oven safe的,放到有余温的烤箱里头热了热。
